Tiran Behrouz, CTO and President of Clear View Systems Ltd, a Canadian-based firm that’s been empowering the currency exchange industry since 2003, is bringing CurrencyXchanger to New Zealand – a full-scale currency exchange software platform for money exchange service providers and all size businesses providing foreign exchange services.
Here is a report of the answers that Tiran Behrouz gave when NZ business magazineasked him afew questions concerning the operation of CurrencyXchanger in New Zealand
Why did you initially develop CurrencyXchanger? What businesses are you targeting in New Zealand with the software platform?
I initially developed CurrencyXchanger in 2003 for one money exchange business in Vancouver. It started as a multi-currency POS and accounting system but later evolved to become full-scale currency exchange software.
We are targeting money exchange service providers, from "mom and pop" shops to nationwide multi-branch operations. In the process, we hope to get the attention of larger financial companies and banks. Many foreign exchange businesses in New Zealand are still using old legacy systems that are not compliant with the latest financial regulations.
What are the unique features of CurrencyXchanger that make it stand out from other FX platforms?
CurrencyXchanger has more functionality than all of our competitors, including some of the priciest banking solutions. It is highly scalable and compatible with Windows and Mac OS. It is the only solution on the market with cloud-syncing capability, allowing it to work offline in locations where the Internet is not available or very slow. The core engine is fully customizable. CurrencyXchanger has the highest independent reviews of all other competing products, and we have had an A+ Rating with the better business bureau of Canada (BBB) since 2010.
Who are some of your biggest clients, and what feedback have you received regarding CurrencyXchanger?
Our biggest client in New Zealand is Lotus Foreign Exchange. They have 36 branches across New Zealand, Australia, and Fiji. CurrencyXchanger has received fantastic feedback and testimonials from users and managers, which are all published on Capterra’s website.
Why do you think it will adapt so well to the New Zealand market?
The AML&ATF (Anti-Money Laundering & Anti-Terrorist Financing) regulations are becoming stricter in New Zealand, and computerized systems have to comply accordingly. I’m currently in Auckland to implement system changes for Lotus FX. I believe most of these changes will be beneficial to the New Zealand market. We recently added new compliance features, which adhere to regulations enforced by the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) and NZ Police.
How easy is it to implement CurrencyXchanger?
It usually takes less than two hours to install and configure. Training the management and staff may take four to eight hours, and we diligently help our customers during the first couple of weeks until they start using it live. CurrencyXchanger is quite light in terms of system requirements.
How does the software stack up in terms of value for money? And how can businesses get more information?
Our product may not be the cheapest in the market, but it certainly offers the most value for money. A typical operation with two tellers and a back-office can purchase the full system including training, configuration, and 12 months of support for NZD$3900. We also have rental options as low as $99 per month. The best way to find out about our product is to ask for a demo through our site
